Even after adding DeMarre Carroll, the Toronto Raptors are still showing interest in Wes Matthews.

The two sides met Wednesday, Marc Stein of ESPN reports. However, the Dallas Mavericks are still considered the favorites to land Matthews, according to Zach Lowe of Grantland.

The Mavericks met with Matthews shortly after free agency kicked off. Reports indicated that Dallas was hoping to ink Matthews to a deal worth $12 million per year, but Matthews is reportedly seeking $15 million per season.

As for the Raptors, Carroll, Matthews, and DeMar DeRozan would make for a somewhat awkward fit. But, for what it's worth, the Raptors seem to be pressing forward with an odd small-ball strategy, where the 6-foot-8 Carroll would play power forward.

Regardless, Matthews would be a strong addition to both the Raptors or the Mavericks. He's coming off an Achilles injury, but he's expected to be fully healthy by next season and is one of the league's best 3-and-D players.

Matthews averaged 15.9 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 3.9 threes made in 33.7 minutes per game with the Portland Trail Blazers last season.
