Brenden Dillon: Agrees to Five-Year Pact with Sharks
Dillon signed a five-year, $16.35 million contract extension with the Sharks on Monday, Katie Strang of ESPN.com reports.
Analysis:
Dillon will be under club control through the end of the 2019-20 season, providing the Sharks with a top-four defenseman at an annual cost of $3.27 million. The 24-year-old only mustered 10 points across 80 games with the Stars and Sharks last season, but still carries a decent amount of upside. Dillon offers great size (6-foot-4, 225 pounds) to go along with smooth skating ability, which should translate to more production over the life of the contract.
