Rundblad signed a two-year, $2.1 million extension with the Blackhawks on Monday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports.

Analysis:

The 24-year-old Swede played in a career-high 49 games this season, also setting personal marks in goals (three), assists (11), points (14) and penalty minutes (12). In the postseason, he saw playing time come at a real premium, as he played in only five games and averaged 7:29 of ice time. He should remain on the Blackhawks' third defensive pairing in the 2015-16 season as he continues to develop.
