Report: Marlins have received multiple inquiries about Latos, Haren

Two of the Miami Marlins' most experienced hurlers are reportedly generating interest as the July 31 non-waiver trade deadline grows nearer.

The Marlins have received multiple trade inquiries regarding veteran right-handers Mat Latos and Dan Haren - both of whom will hit free agency at season's end - per Jon Morosi of FOX Sports.

Latos, 27, has struggled in his inaugural season with the Marlins, stumbling to a 5.49 ERA (70 ERA+) with a 1.44 WHIP across 12 starts. Despite his shaky numbers, Latos owns a respectable 3.65 FIP in 62 1/3 innings, posting a solid 20.5 percent strikeout rate while recovering some of the velocity he lost last summer with the Cincinnati Reds.

Haren, meanwhile, has enjoyed an impressive resurgence in Miami in 2015 despite his offseason reluctance to pitch outside his native California. Through 15 starts, the 34-year-old owns a 3.38 ERA (114 ERA+) with a 3.89 strikeout-to-walk ratio, limiting opponents to a .218 batting average while managing a career-best 80.4 percent left-on-base rate.

With the Marlins unlikely to contend for a playoff spot, and with Jose Fernandez poised to make his season debut Thursday, the club could look to swap a veteran starter for a younger asset with more years of team control.
