Melker Karlsson: Inks Two-Year Deal

Karlsson signed a two-year, $3.25 million contract on Friday, Renaud Lavoie of TVA Sports reports.

Analysis:

Karlsson showed a ton of promise in his rookie campaign in 2014-15, registering 13 goals and 11 assists in 53 games with the Sharks. He became a regular member of the team's top-line and second power-play unit shortly after being recalled by San Jose in December. If he's able to build on his first year in the NHL, Karlsson could be in line for a breakout sophomore season. He's certainly a player fantasy owners will want to keep on their radar heading into next season.
