Oilers land Cam Talbot from Rangers in deal involving 4 draft picks

The New York Rangers traded Cam Talbot and the 209th pick in the 2015 NHL Draft to the Edmonton Oilers for the 57th pick and two late-round selections.

Talbot, 27, has just 57 games of NHL experience, but has commendable numbers in his limited sample size. The undrafted goaltender has a career .931 save percentage and 2.00 goals-against average in parts of two seasons.

He will bring a manageable $1.45 million cap hit to Edmonton, but is projected to reach unrestricted free agency next summer.

Ben Scrivens is still under contract with the Oilers for one more season, while Viktor Fasth is likely headed elsewhere in free agency.
