Report: Petr Cech to officially join Arsenal on Monday

There's finally a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel as Petr Cech's drawn-out transfer saga is close to coming to an end.

After reportedly undergoing a medical with Arsenal on Friday, the Czech Republic international will officially end his illustrious Chelsea career and join the north London outfit Monday, according to Jason Burt of The Telegraph.

The move to the Emirates Stadium, believed to be worth £10.9 million, should see Cech assume the starting role as Arsenal's number one 'keeper, with Wojciech Szczesny resuming his role as a backup.

Cech's arrival, however, will also spell the end for David Ospina, as the Colombian 'keeper, despite his incredible display against Argentina in the Copa America, looks set for a move to Fenerbahce in Turkey for a reported £3.9 million transfer fee.

The Telegraph also reported that Cech could be joined by Chelsea goalkeeping coach Christophe Lollichon. The pair have worked together for over 10 years, going back to Cech's time with Rennes in France.

While his arrival will be a welcome sight for Arsenal supporters after weeks of speculation, one can't help but assume this is an accurate illustration of Cech's mode of transportation to the Emirates.
