On the opening night of the NHL Draft, Houston Texans superstar J.J. Watt showed off his hockey skills for the world to see.

Watt played hockey until he was 13 years old and remains fond of the sport. Taking part in the second annual Blake Geoffrion Hockey Classic, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year showed what could've been in another life.

The Texans' defensive end displayed an NHL-level slapshot, and skated gracefully and powerfully for a 6-foot-5, 290-pound linemen.

Geoffrion, a player in the Montreal Canadiens organization and grandson of Bernie "Boom Boom" Geoffrion, had his career cut short after suffering a depressed skull fracture after his head connected with a player's skate blade in 2012. The 27-year-old now works in marketing.
