Jahlil Okafor: Drafted No. 3 by Sixers in 2015 NBA Draft

Okafor was drafted by the 76ers with the third pick in the 2015 NBA Draft.

Analysis:

Okafor has the most developed post game of any prospect since Tim Duncan, and Okafor played just one year in college, while Duncan was a senior when he came out. He averaged 17.3 points while shooting 66 percent from the field his freshman year at Duke, despite seeing constant double teams. That said, Okafor's poor free-throw shooting (51 percent) and average post defense (1.4 blocks per game) limit his fantasy ceiling to that of a second or third-round pick. One point working in Okafor's favor is that he is so incredibly efficient in the post that he could shoot better than 60 percent from the field during his prime seasons, which would go a long way toward minimizing the damage he does at the free-throw line. Unless the 76ers decide to trade Okafor, the big man from Duke will enter a crowded Philadelphia backcourt highlighted by Joel Embiid and Nerlens Noel. Okafor may be an insurance pick given the recent developments with Embiid's foot injury, as last year's third overall pick is in danger of missing his second straight season.
