Lehner was traded from the Senators to the Sabres on Friday along with forward David Legwand in exchange for the No. 21 pick in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft.

Analysis:

Lehner started 24 games for the Senators last season, going 9-12-3 with a 3.02 GAA before a concussion ended his season early. Though Lehner remains an intriguing prospect, the presence of Craig Anderson in net and the second-half emergence of Andrew Hammond made him expendable in Ottawa. In Buffalo, Lehner is now the clear frontrunner for top netminding duties, though he'll still have to fend off Chad Johnson for the role. Lehner doesn't exactly fit the bill of an experienced No. 1 goalie the Sabres had wanted, but he nonetheless gives the team a netminder with some intriguing upside. He'll get a slight fantasy boost due to his increased role in Buffalo, but since the Sabres aren't expected to be playoff contenders next year, wins may often prove elusive.
