Devin Booker: Picked 13th by Suns

Booker was selected by the Suns with the 13th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft

Analysis:

Booker can flat out shoot. He doesn't need much space and has unlimited range. Moreover, his measurables at the combine almost mirror those of Klay Thompson, so there's a chance Booker can be that type of player in a few years at the next level. Booker shot 47 percent from the field, 41 percent from three-point range, and 83 percent from the free-throw line as a freshman at Kentucky. His 60 percent true shooting percentage from 2014-15 ranks fourth behind just Karl-Anthony Towns, Jahlil Okafor, and Frank Kaminsky among college players expected to go in the first round of this year's draft. Booker stands 6-foot-6 and weighs 206 pounds, and despite being known as a shooter, he has good athleticism, with a 34.5-inch vertical jump. There is a chance that Booker has more untapped potential than might meet the eye. He was a role player at Kentucky, but he has the ingredients to thrive in a bigger role in time, and if he works as hard as Thompson worked after getting drafted, defense could even be seen as one of Booker's strengths down the road. Even if he only settles in as a taller J.J. Redick, that's a mighty fine player and surefire starting shooting guard in the NBA, which could come to pass in his rookie season if Brandon Knight's services aren't retained in restricted free agency.
