After locking up two of their pending restricted free agents early Thursday, the Ottawa Senators are still no closer to signing forward Mike Hoffman.

Senators assistant general manager Pierre Dorion was on TSN 1200 radio Thursday where he told Ian Mendes that despite having a good discussion with Hoffman's agent Thursday, both sides are still not close to getting a deal done.

The news comes after the Senators signed forwards Mika Zibanejad and Mark Stone to multi-year deals. Hoffman is coming off a one-year, $750,000 contract with the club.

The 25-year-old led the team with 27 goals in his first full season with the club. He also added 21 assists for 48 points in 79 games.
