Report: Post-hearing briefs in Brady's appeal due next week; decision to follow

Tom Brady's appeal of a four-game suspension concluded Tuesday, and post-hearing briefs are to be filed by next week, according to FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo.

A decision on whether to uphold, reduce, or dismiss the sentence is expected from commissioner Roger Goodell shortly thereafter, Garafolo reports.

Brady was suspended after the Wells Report stated he was uncooperative with the NFL's investigation into under-inflated footballs during the AFC Championship Game. The reigning Super Bowl MVP was also found to be "at least generally aware of the inappropriate activities." Brady's New England Patriots routed the Indianapolis Colts 45-7 in the AFC Championship Game and proceeded to capture Super Bowl XLIX.

Although Brady and his attorneys were advised to keep their presentation under four hours, the hearing went on for over 10 hours. A decision wasn't revealed, and NFL investigator Ted Wells scurried away from the media after admitting that he testified during the appeal.
