Titans' Green-Beckham hoping to turn over a new leaf in NFL

Tennesse Titans rookie wide receiver Dorial Green-Beckham had a serious domestic violence incident derail his collegiate career and he doesn't want it to happen again.

"I know now what I can and can't do," Green-Beckham told Jeremy Fowler of ESPN during the NFL's rookie symposium at the Cleveland Browns' facility, which includes a discussion on domestic violence.

Green-Beckham was suspended at Missouri for allegedly forcing his way into an apartment and pushing a woman down a flight of stairs in an effort to see his girlfriend. The case was ultimately dismissed after witnesses refused to testify.

After declining the opportunity to discuss the specifics of the incident, allowing that he was in the "wrong place at the wrong time," Beckham said he's thankful it happened in college because it would be a "bigger deal" at the NFL level.

"The (NFL) talked about it last night how important it is to make sure (to know) most of the problems come from alcohol and women," Green-Beckham said. "They talk a lot about it, and they want us to put ourselves in better situations ... All of that stuff, they take very seriously. It's serious stuff."

The league is encouraging players to leave the situation if a heated altercation begins with a spouse or girlfriend, according to Green-Beckham, a tactic he plans on using if need be.
