The Golden State Warriors' famed Splash Brothers may not share any actual DNA, but they've proven to be spiritual siblings in basketball.

The two gunslinging guards make up what many believe to be the best shooting tandem in history, and their dead-eyed accuracy and crunch-time derring-do just helped lead the Warriors to the franchise's first NBA title in 40 years.

On Father's Day, fresh off a championship victory parade, Steph Curry and Klay Thompson sat down with their fathers, Dell and Mychal, whose own NBA careers overlapped - albeit never within the same time - in the 1980s and '90s.

The two proud papas compared their pro basketball experiences to their sons', and talked about the joys of witnessing the Warriors' success from the sidelines.

Said Mychal, who won two championships with the Los Angeles Lakers during his playing career:

I was fortunate enough to be with Magic and his team and win two, but this feels even better for me personally than my two championships. I feel like this is the best thing that's ever happened to me in professional basketball, is seeing Klay and his teammates win the championship.

Said Dell, who is experiencing championship glory - if vicariously - for the first time:

I never got to this point, so to be able to live this and go through it with your son, knowing how difficult it is with the sacrifices you have to make along the way to get there, not only individually but as a team, it's really special... As a parent it's the best feeling in the world.

Both dads also acknowledged that their sons' abilities have eclipsed their own, though it was apparently the first time Mychal had copped to it, leading to this awesome exchange:

Mychal: I'll say it, he's better than me. Different style of play, but I'd give it to him, he's a better, more all-around player than I was.

Klay: That's the first time you've ever said that.

Mychal: Well, I've gotta admit it.

Klay: Takes a championship?

Mychal: Takes a championship. When he got that ring I said, 'OK, he's arrived.'

And here's how Steph described learning he was better than Dell:

I never really thought I was better than him until my grandma - his mom - gave me that crown. She watched every one of his games and she - I don't know if it was in high school or my first year in college - but she was at the house and she (said), 'That boy's better than you, Dell.'
