Less than a week before the 2015 NHL Entry Draft, the Edmonton Oilers have reportedly fired a quartet of scouts.
The club fired director of amateur scouting Stu MacGregor, two other amateur scouts, and one pro scout Saturday night, TSN's Bob McKenzie reports.
Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman reported that head pro scout Morey Gare is among the four.
MacGregor joined the Oilers in 2000 and took over as head amateur scout in 2007. He previously served in a scouting role with the Dallas Stars and was general manager of the WHL's Kamloops Blazers from 1995-98.
The Oilers named Peter Chiarelli general manager and president of hockey operations in April.
The draft will take place on June 26 and 27 in Sunrise, Fla.
