Cardinals' Daryl Washington 'confident' in reinstatement from suspension

Mark J. Rebilas / USA TODAY Sports

Arizona Cardinals linebacker Daryl Washington has yet to hear from the NFL regarding his possible reinstatement, but he remains optimistic.

Washington said he's "confident that something will work out" and that he plans to be ready for the start of training camp in August, he told Mike Jurecki of FOX 910 via text message.

The 28-year-old was suspended indefinitely in May 2014 for multiple violations of the league's substance abuse policy. He also faces a domestic assault violation, which NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said will be reviewed separately under the personal conduct policy after a decision on his current suspension is made.
