The Philadelphia Eagles released Evan Mathis on Thursday, and to no one's surprise, a number of teams have jumped at the chance to sign the Pro Bowl guard.

Drew Rosenhaus, Mathis's agent, said 10 teams have expressed an interest in his client, adding it may take him a couple of days, or perhaps weeks, to decide on a destination.

"We're prepared to be patient and find the right team, and right situation for him," Rosenhaus told Omar Kelly of the South Florida Sun Sentinel.

Rosenhaus didn't name any of the interested teams, but the Miami Dolphins are reportedly among them. The Dolphins have yet to make an offer, though, and aren't willing to bid high on the 33-year-old.

"One of the things that I've assured the teams that are interested in Evan is that I'm simply not going to identify who they are, and talk about them because they have a set roster at this point," Rosenhaus said. "But there are 10 teams, 10, that have expressed bona fide interest in signing Evan.

"I can tell you that this deal will happen at any time, or it may still take between now and training camp to get it done," Rosenhaus continued. "There are several teams that are in the mix right now, and we don't want to discourage anybody from pursuing it in the event that there will be collateral damage if they don't get him."

Mathis started 78 games over his 10-year NFL career and was graded as the top offensive guard the past two seasons by Pro Football Focus. Rosenhaus is confident Mathis will land a multi-year contract, but did note that his client is flexible when it comes to the length of the deal.

"He wants to win. He wants to go to a good organization. (He) would love to play in a scheme that fits his style, but we think he's scheme versatile," Rosenhaus said. "Obviously the contract is a big factor because that's the only reason he's not in Philadelphia right now."
