MLS Game Summary - FC Dallas at Colorado

Commerce City, CO (SportsNetwork.com) - Dillon Serna rescued a point for the Colorado Rapids at Dick's Sporting Goods Park on Friday as he scored in the 88th minute of a 1-1 draw with FC Dallas.

Fabian Castillo provided a rare moment of quality in the 71st minute to put Dallas in front. But Serna struck an excellent volley a few minutes from time to snatch a point for his side, which settled for a second successive draw, while Dallas sees its winless streak reach six games.

Colorado's best spell of play came in the opening 25 minutes of the match as the hosts carved out a pair of chances that threatened the FCD net.

Dillon Powers lined up a free kick in the 11th minute and he drove the ball just over the crossbar with Dallas goalkeeper Dan Kennedy at his mercy.

In the 24th minute, Serna squandered a good opportunity when he arrived at the back post to latch on to a cross from Gabriel Torres, but the Colorado midfielder sent his effort over the net.

That set the stage for Castillo's game-changing play in the 71st minute as he received a pass from Kyle Bekker on the left and dribbled into the penalty area. Castillo then curled a shot toward the far post that found the upper corner of the net despite Colorado goalkeeper Clint Irwin getting his hand on the ball.

Irwin produced a fine stop in the 86th minute to deny a header from Blas Perez, and the save proved crucial as Serna volleyed home a cross from Drew Moor a few minutes later to deny Dallas.
