Browns' Johnny Manziel giving up money sign, feels bad about being a distraction

If Johnny Manziel scores a touchdown this season, he won't be celebrating in typical fashion.

The Cleveland Browns quarterback told the media Wednesday that he's giving up his patented money sign celebration.

It was clear in 2014 that a lack of maturity was an issue for Manziel, and he has spent the entire offseason trying to improve his image. That included a stay in rehab to get his personal life in order, and upon his return to the team, the second-year pivot was moved by the reception he got from his teammates.

Manziel also conceded he was a distraction last season, saying he felt bad about how that impacted the team.

The signal-caller still has a long way to go to claim the starting job from Josh McCown, but for the most part, he appears to be committed to doing the right things both on and off the field this time around.
