Curry has perfect response for ESPN's Bayless claiming Warriors had 'fortuitous' title run

Why does ESPN's Skip Bayless have to be such a Debbie Downer and rain on Stephen Curry parade?

Bayless isn't one to back away from controversial points of view, yet with the Golden State Warriors having just won the 2015 NBA Championship, the 63-year-old co-host of "First Take" felt it necessary to remind everyone of the straightforward road the team had to the title.

Curry, like the compassionate and cordial human being he is, decided to take the high road (kind of) and showered Bayless with affection instead of bashing the analyst like a majority of followers on social media probably wished he had.

Game, set, and match goes to The Chef.

In Bayless's defense, Curry and the Warriors did avoid a number of the Western Conference's elite, with the Oklahoma City Thunder missing the playoffs entirely due to a slew of injuries (Kevin Durant's being the biggest) and the defending champion San Antonio Spurs losing in the opening round to the Los Angeles Clippers, who inevitably fell in the semifinals after blowing a 3-1 lead to the Houston Rockets.

That doesn't mean the Rockets, Memphis Grizzlies, and New Orleans Pelicans weren't quality competition, though.

Jrue Holiday, Mike Conley, Patrick Beverley, and Kyrie Irving all missed one or more games in their respective series, with Beverley sitting out the entire Western Conference Finals due to a wrist injury.

None of those circumstances, all of which were beyond the Warriors' control, should taint the franchise's first championship win in 40 years.
