Report: Guard John Moffitt to resume career after overcoming drug addiction
Former NFL guard John Moffitt plans to resume his football career after a two-year retirement in which he went to rehab and overcame drug addiction and personal demons, FOX Sports' Jay Glazer reports.
Glazer, who trains with several NFL players in the offseason, says Moffitt came to his training program three months ago looking to get his career back on track.
The 28-year-old was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round of the 2011 draft. He tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs as a rookie and later had several run-ins with the law.
Moffitt was traded to the Denver Broncos in 2013 and abruptly retired after only two games with the team. The Broncos still own his rights but will reportedly release him.
Moffitt has only 19 games (15 starts) to his name, but could generate some interest from offensive line-needy teams.
