Peluso re-signed Wednesday with the Jets on a two-year, $1.35 million contract, Stephen Whyno of The Canadian Press reports.

Analysis:

The 26-year-old Peluso appeared in 49 games with the Jets last season, providing two points, 86 PIM, and 100 hits while skating primarily on the club's fourth line. Peluso will give the Jets some muscle to pair with the scoring talent on their top three lines, but even in specialty leagues, his PIM and hit production doesn't stack up especially well with many of the league's other checking liners.
