Harrison Barnes will taste alcohol for the 1st time if Warriors win title

Bob Donnan-USA TODAY Sports

The Black Falcon won't be flying straight if the Golden State Warriors win the NBA championship.

At 23 years old, Warriors small forward Harrison Barnes has never tasted alcohol, a streak he's ready to break under the right circumstances. Whether that's after Game 6 on Tuesday or a Game 7 on Friday, Barnes is ready to try booze for the first time in his life if the Warriors are celebrating a 2015 title.

"That's over," Barnes said Tuesday. "I'm celebrating."

There's absolutely nothing wrong with teetotaling, but there's also nothing wrong with tipping back a cold one or popping some champagne when the occasion calls for it. As a fair warning to Barnes, he may not like the acquired taste right away, but the taste of victory would surely be sweet.

All of this is a bit premature, as the Warriors still have to beat the Cleveland Cavaliers. But head coach Steve Kerr may want to have one of his Modelo Especials set aside for his young abstinent wing.
