Tyler Johnson appeared to be playing hurt throughout much of the Stanley Cup Final, and now we know why.
After the Chicago Blackhawks defeated his Tampa Bay Lightning 2-0 in Game 6 to win the Stanley Cup on Monday night, the forward revealed that he suffered a broken right wrist early in the series.
"(It's) disappointing, you want to give 100-percent, especially in situation like this, really not capable of doing that," Johnson told reporters after the game.
Johnson led all playoff scorers with 13 goals in 26 games. He finished the postseason tied with Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane for the league lead with 23 points apiece.
