Arsenal not willing to include star players in Cech deal

Arsenal could be forced to look elsewhere for a goalkeeper if Chelsea don't lower their asking price for Petr Cech.

The Premier League champions are reportedly only willing to sell Cech to their rivals if Arsenal include one of its stars in return, a condition the North London side will refuse to comply with, according to Jeremy Wilson of The Telegraph.

Jose Mourinho has indicated his preference to bring a player back to Stamford Bridge as part of a deal for Cech, and has recently expressed his fondness for Arsenal's wealth of attacking talent.

"For every club that is interested in Petr, I can find a player that I like in that team too," Mourinho admitted.

Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain are the players linked with a move to The Blues. However, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger reportedly won't consider including either English international in a deal for the 33-year-old 'keeper.

A deal for Walcott might make sense considering his struggles to feature in the first team following his lengthy recovery from a knee injury, but Wenger appeared to be impressed with the forward's output in the final months of the season. The 26-year-old is also currently in the process of negotiating a new contract with Arsenal, as he enters the final year of his current deal.

Mathieu Flamini, Yaya Sanogo, Joel Campbell, and Lukas Podolski are likely the only players Wenger is willing to part with, but Mourinho seems intent on acquiring a first team player.

Meanwhile, Chelsea's options are limited, after Cech revealed his preference to move to a club within London, meaning Arsenal could just wait patiently for their rivals to agree to their terms.
