World No. 1 Lydia Ko carded a 3-over 76 in the second round of the KPMG Women's LPGA Championship in what was one of the worst rounds of her professional career, missing her first cut on the LPGA Tour.

Ko had made it through to the weekend 53 consecutive times as an amateur and pro.

The 18-year-old from New Zealand finished her 36 holes at 2-over 148, missing the cut by one stroke. She made 6 on her 11th hole of the second round, and followed it with three bogeys over the next four holes.

"I made a double and just couldn't get anything turned around," Ko said, according to Bill Fields of ESPN.

Ko, who has two LPGA Tour victories in 2015 and seven in her career, came to Westchester Country Club having finished tied for 41st, 16th, and 27th in her previous three events. In the year's first major, Ko finished tied for 51st at the ANA Inspiration.
