The New England Revolution will be without the services of midfielder Jermaine Jones for six-to-eight weeks.
The club announced Friday that the American international, 33, went under the knife to repair a bilateral sports hernia, and is thus set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
In addition to the MLS matches Jones will miss, the timeline also renders him unavailable for the United States at the fast-approaching Gold Cup.
