Manchester City preparing bid for Juventus star Paul Pogba

Fresh off their failed approach to lure Raheem Sterling away from Liverpool, Manchester City are targeting another promising player as they prepare a transfer offer for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba.

The Premier League club, however, will have to break the bank after Juventus' claim that they are only willing to listen to gargantuan offers, according to Sky Sports.

The Italian champions will reportedly reject offers less than £58 million.

While City's billionaire owners are more than capable of meeting such demands, there's another obstacle in their way as Pogba would not qualify as a home-grown player, despite his years with Manchester United.

Rules stipulate that in order to be considered a home-grown player, a required quota must be met where a player must have trained with an English team for three seasons between the ages of 15 and 21.

Pogba, however, just misses the requirement after his stay at Manchester United only lasted two years before moving on to Juventus.

Either way, Pogba is a player any team in the world would love to acquire. City will likely explore every route if they're serious about luring him back to Manchester.
