Report: Devils ask permission to speak to assistant coach of Penguins AHL affiliate

After naming John Hynes - former bench boss of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins - as their new head coach, the New Jersey Devils are once again looking to the Pittsburgh Penguins' AHL affiliate in an attempt to fill out their coaching staff.

The Devils have asked permission to speak with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton assistant coach Alain Nasreddine, according to Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Dave Molinari.

Nasreddine had served as an assistant coach under Hynes in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton for the past five seasons.

The Devils hired former Penguins' general manager Ray Shero - who seems to have a liking for his former franchise - to take over for Lou Lamoriello in early May.
