Kyrie Irving: (Knee) Says Aggravation Feels Different
Irving (knee) said Thursday's injury felt different than the prior left knee issues he dealt with recently, ESPN.com reports. "It was a little bit different than what I had been experiencing," Irving said. "[Before,] there was a quick pinch, but I could still feel what was going on in my knee. This time, I kind of knew it was a little bit different [from] the other times."
Analysis:
It seems the difference is not a good thing, as Irving admitted after Thursday's Game 1 that he's worried. An early diagnosis ruled out an ACL or MCL tear, but it's still possible this is something other than the tendinitis that's bothered him for the last three weeks. According to Chris Haynes of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Irving left Oracle Arena on crutches Thursday night. An MRI is scheduled for Friday morning.
