Ric Flair wants the Cavs to sweep the Warriors while he's in attendance

The 16-time world champion has some thoughts about LeBron James becoming a three-time champion: "WOOOOO!"

Legendary wrestling icon Ric Flair is turning his back on a North Carolina connection to throw his support behind the Cleveland Cavaliers in the NBA Finals. Despite Golden State Warriors superstar Steph Curry having grown up in Flair's hometown of Charlotte, the two-time WWE Hall of Famer is hoping James and the Cavs not only win, but pull off a sweep.

This turn shouldn't be at all surprising given that Flair was always better as a heel. There's also the fact that Matthew Dellavedova is "The Dirtiest Player in the Game" and that James has brought his entire Four Horsemen posse - Mike Miller, James Jones, and Anderson Varejao - with him to the finals. And yes, of course Tristan Thompson is Lex Luger and Rich Paul is J.J. Dillon.

There's a bit of self interest at play here, too, as Flair has tickets for Game 4 in Cleveland and would be on hand to witness the series clincher in that scenario.

As Eye on Basketball points out, it's appropriate for Flair to attend one game in this series as Curry looks to edge James. After all, "To be the man, you gotta beat the man."

The Cavs sweeping is about as unlikely as Flair getting a 17th world title run at this point. Of all potential series outcomes, a Cleveland sweep has the longest odds at 18-to-1.
