The Washington Redskins released a statement Thursday indicating that the team is aware of and looking into rookie wide receiver Jamison Crowder's alleged involvement in an off-field incident.

"The Washington Redskins are aware of an off-field situation involving Jamison Crowder. We have been in touch with the NFL office and will continue to follow proper League protocol and assist them in any way we can to gather all of the facts. We will not be making any further comment at this time."

Crowder's agent claimed his client's Instagram and Twitter accounts were hacked when posts were recently made accusing him of involvement in a domestic violence dispute, according to John Keim of ESPN.

The Twitter account is no longer active and the post in question has since been deleted from Crowder's Instagram page.

Crowder was selected by the Redskins in the fourth round of this year's draft.
