Ryan Braun: Undergoes Another Thumb Procedure

Braun left the team following Tuesday's game and will undergo another cryotherapy procedure on his right thumb, MLB.com's Adam McCalvy reports.

Analysis:

Manager Craig Counsell said the procedure was pre-planned. He went through the same procedure in early-October of last year and was swinging a bat one week later, so this should only sideline him for week(s) not months. Braun was one of the few hitters on the Brewers who had been producing for fantasy owners so this is a bit concerning, given Braun's history with the thumb. Shane Peterson, who was called up by the Brewers, should see plenty of time in the short term along with Jordan Schafer (knee) if he can get healthy.
