Report: Vieira will leave Manchester City if offered suitable manager's position

The offer of a suitable manager's position is reportedly all that stands between Patrick Vieira and an exit from Manchester City.

Vieira, who famously served as Arsenal's captain and is currently City's elite development squad manager, will leave the Etihad Stadium if he's offered a suitable manager's position, as he's aware his next move is crucial in his managerial career, according to Jamie Jackson from the Guardian.

It was reported Sunday that Vieira is expected to meet with Newcastle United over their managerial role. However, although interim manager John Carver is not expected to return to St. James' Park next season following a catastrophic conclusion to the season, owner Mike Ashley's strict handling of Newcastle could apparently lead Vieira to look elsewhere.

Vieira is in the process of completing his UEFA Pro License in Wales and is reportedly on a 12-month rolling contract at City that earns him around £1.5 million per year, an amount that any club interested in hiring him would have to pay in compensation.
