Charles Oliveira submits Nik Lentz in incredible bout
Charles Oliveira's three-round war with Nick Lentz was incredible. The anti-Barroso-Jimmo, if you will.
In the first round, Oliveria dropped Lentz with a rib-roasting knee to the body, and followed it up with some a heavy barrage of fists, but The Carny, showing the toughness of ... well ... an actual carny, was able to survive the onslaught.
Undeterred, Lentz flashed his superior wrestling in the second round, dominating Do Bronx with heavy top control, ground-and-pound, and multiple submission attempts as Oliveira had to go into survival mode.
Lentz looked gassed heading into the final round, and once Oliveira saw some light, he suddenly jumped guard and snatched a guillotine choke. Lentz fought hard to survive, but eventually gave in and tapped out at 1:10 of the third and final stanza.
One of the best fights and submissions this year, Charles Oliveira really knows how to thrill, what a naturally gifted and creative grappler
