Jason, Formiga, Bektic among winners on Fight Night 67 prelims

Rony Jason def. Damon Jackson via first-round triangle choke

Rony Jason is a grappling wizard.

Damon Jackson thought it was a good idea to use his wrestling to try to grind Jason out on the floor, and it was a fools errand. Although Jackson found some success with some heavy elbows, Jason, a BJJ black belt, slickly snatched a triangle choke-armbar combination, eliciting the tap at 3:31 of the opening frame.

What else would you expect from a man who has "Jiu Jitsu" tattooed on his back.

Jussier Formiga def. Wilson Reis via unanimous decision

Jussier Formiga continued his rapid ascent up the flyweight ladder Saturday night, scoring a unanimous decision victory over Wilson Reis.

Formiga dropped Reis with a blistering right cross to open the second round. Reis survived the initial onslaught, and was able to eventually reverse Fromiga on the floor and controlled stretches with suffocating top control, though he wasn't able to do much damage, and Formiga landed slick counters once the fight went back to the feet.

Reis was able to slow the pace in the final frame, clinching with Formiga along the fence, while neither man did anything of real consequence. This relative inactivity irked the Brazilian crowd, and they booed lustily during the instances of sheer nothing.

Fromiga closed out the fight strong, tripping Reis to the ground and threatening with punches and a rear-naked choke until the final horn sounded.

Nicolas Dalby def. Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos via split-decision

Nicolas Dalby and Elizeu Zaleski dos Santos engaged in spirited game of fist chicken, and it was wonderful.

Both men slung some heavy leather over the 15 minute affair, with dos Santos putting everything he had into each power shot, while a game Dalby, who unleashed some violence of his own, would try to drag the bout to the floor whenever he tired of dos Santos' heavy artillery.

Dalby's superior wrestling likely swayed two of the judges, and he was able to squeak by dos Santos via razor-thin split-decision in front of an angry crowd in Brazil.

Mirsad Bektic def. Lucas Martins via second-round TKO

Lucas Martins had nothing for Mirsad Bektic on Saturday night.

Bektic kicked off the the FOX Sports 1 prelims of UFC Fight Night 67 with a complete, dominant performance against Martins, slickly using his striking to get inside before easily taking the bout to the floor.

Once there, Bektic mauled Martins with punches while working to take the overwhelmed Brazilians' back. In the opening moments of the second round, Bektic sent Martins careening to the cage with a left - right combination, and unleashed a flurry of punches until referee Mario Yamasaki stopped the bout 30 seconds into the frame.

During his post-fight interview, Bektic took a swipe at the Brazilian government.
