Eagles' Sam Bradford not participating in OTA drills

The Philadelphia Eagles don't appear to be rushing quarterback Sam Bradford's return.

Bradford, now nine months removed from tearing the ACL in his left knee, was limited throughout spring workouts and has not taken part in any drills during organized team activities this week, according to Jeff McLane of the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Eagles head coach Chip Kelly confirmed Thursday that Bradford has been limited during OTAs, but said his rehab is on schedule and he'll start throwing during 7-on-7 drills next week.

Asked how confident he is that Bradford will return to his old form, Kelly replied, "I'm not 100 percent about anything. Can you predict (the) future? If so, let's go to Belmont."

Mark Sanchez has been working with the first-team offense in Bradford's absence.

Bradford did some throwing during individual drills when Phase 2 of spring workouts began earlier this month, but didn't participate in practices the following week, McLane reports. If he isn't cleared for full participation until training camp, Bradford will have only five weeks of preparation before the start of the season.

OTAs continue through June 11, followed by a three-day minicamp from June 16 to 18. The Eagles will then take a break until training camp opens in early August.
