Agent: Adam McQuaid hopes for return to Bruins

Adam McQuaid isn't interested in leaving Beantown.

The 28-year-old defenseman - who is in the prime of his career and believes he has a lot to offer the Boston Bruins - would love to stay with the organization, according to his agent Paul Krepelka.

"We're holding out hope (to get something done)," said Krepelka to Joe Haggerty of CSNNE.com. “He's a good fit here (in Boston)."

New general manager Don Sweeney has Zdeno Chara, Dennis Seidenberg, Torey Krug, and Kevan Miller inked for next season, and restricted free agent Dougie Hamilton is likely to receive a new deal, so the need for McQuaid is there, but the finances may not be substantial.

"My priority, my goal would be to come back here. I don't know if that's realistic or not," said McQuaid in April. "I guess time will tell. I'll wait and see if it comes to (hitting free agency), and then obviously you have to go down that avenue.

"But this is where I want to be. It's the organization that…they've given me so many opportunities, and worked with me. ... There were times I felt like I hadn't held up my end of the bargain as far as that stuff is concerned. It wasn't anything I could necessarily control, so it was hard that way."

McQuaid appeared in 63 games for the Bruins in 2014-15, scoring one goal and adding six assists.
