Blue Jays' Donaldson hits walk off 3-run homer against White Sox

There are a lot of questions surrounding the 2015 edition of the Toronto Blue Jays, but if one thing's for certain, it's this: Josh Donaldson is the team's best player.

Not that he needed a historic night to prove it, but on Tuesday against the Chicago White Sox, it was all about numbers for Donaldson.

According to Elias, he became the first player in the modern era with four hits, five runs scores, two homers and a walk-off homer in a single game.

A mouthful? Yes. A triumphant feat nonetheless? Absolutely.

Already 3-for-3 on the night with a homer and a double, call it fitting that Donaldson came to the dish representing the go-ahead run in the bottom of the ninth against White Sox closer David Robertson.

What made matters even more difficult for Robertson was that Jose Bautista, already 3-for-4 with three doubles and five RBI in the game, was on deck. Robertson had to pick his poison, and he picked wrong.

Donaldson knew exactly what he was looking for and on the first pitch he saw, took a 90 mph fastball over the right-field fence for a walk-off, three-run shot, upending the White Sox 10-9.

It was a wild game that built to a wild finish. Heck, this was probably the most exciting game of the season for Toronto. The Blue Jays' bats took the lead four times and their arms gave it back every time.

It was a relief when Donaldson delivered the final blow, because there's no telling what would have happened if another inning followed.
