Didier Drogba plays final match with Chelsea on Sunday

Didier Drogba's time at Chelsea has come to an end, once again, and he's going out a champion.

Drogba announced prior to Sunday's season finale against Sunderland that the match would be his last with the club, though the 37-year-old didn't rule out the possibility of a return to Stamford Bridge somewhere down the line.

I want to play for at least one more season and in order to play more football I feel I need to go to another club. All the fans know my love for Chelsea and I hope to be back here in the future in another role.

Drogba scored seven goals this season in a limited role, but played a part in Chelsea winning another Premier League championship - the fourth in club history.

The Ivorian striker, who returned to Stamford Bridge last summer - after leaving the club in 2012 following a wildly successful eight-year spell where he established himself as an icon in West London - captained the side on Sunday, and was carried off the pitch by his teammates in a touching moment upon being substituted in the 30th minute.

Drogba leaves Chelsea with four Premier League titles in tow, along with three League Cup trophies, four FA Cups and, of course, the Champions League crown from 2012.
