Report: Ben Tate, Felix Jones and Daniel Thomas working out for Cowboys
The Dallas Cowboys are hosting running back Ben Tate on a free-agent visit Thursday, according to ESPN's Josina Anderson.
Tate spent time with the Cleveland Browns, Minnesota Vikings and Pittsburgh Steelers last season, rushing for 371 yards and four touchdowns on 119 carries.
Also on hand at the team facility Thursday are former Cowboys tailback Felix Jones and, according to Aaron Wilson of The Baltimore Sun, former Miami Dolphins running back Daniel Thomas. Jones was out of football in 2014 but will get the chance to try out with a group of players.
Thomas spent the last four seasons in Miami, where he ran for 10 touchdowns and more than 1,400 yards.
The Cowboys added Darren McFadden to their backfield after losing DeMarco Murray in free agency, but his injury history could be a concern. The team also opted against selecting a running back in this year's draft, choosing instead to bolster several other positions.
