Lightning's Cooper on Game 1 vs. Rangers: 'You watch the tape and you want to vomit'

The Tampa Bay Lightning may have only lost by a slim margin in Game 1 to the New York Rangers, but head coach Jon Cooper knows his team needs to be much better.

The Lightning's bench boss spoke to the media following Sunday's practice and he made it very clear that he expects better things from his players in Game 2.

"There's the times that you think you played OK, and you watch the tape and you want to vomit," Cooper told reporters. "And that was a little bit how (Game 1) went."

Cooper wasn't done there also suggesting that though the Rangers played a good game, the Lightning didn't help themselves.

"I think the Rangers played extremely well, but there are so many things, like we just kept stubbing our toe all night," Cooper said. "So we were just handing them tickets to the movie, and we were a turnstile and watching them go by. We can't do that."

Cooper and the Lightning will look to even up the series Monday.
