Mitt Romney and Evander Holyfield box at charity event

Mitt Romney has typically jabbed his opponents in besmirching campaign ads and political debates.

But the former Republican presidential candidate rolled with the punches in a boxing ring Friday night in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Romney and five-time heavyweight boxing champion Evander Holyfield played tag for two rounds to raise money for CharityVision - an organization that treats blind patients in developing nations.

The fight was fairly uneventful, until the aggressor Romney dropped Holyfield with an incredibly devastating poke.

Romney's corner threw in the towel in Round 2, cementing a victory for Holyfield.

The event raised $1 million, with corporate sponsors pledging amounts between $25,000 and $250,000 - a success, to say the least.

After the fight, Romney, with a belt strapped around his waist, stood in the center of the ring wielding a microphone, fitting in one last shot - this time at the Democratic Party.

"Please, Champ, don't beat my brains out," Romney said to Holyfield. "Because if you did, I'd have to become a Democrat."
