Magny survives early onslaught to TKO Lim

Neil Magny continued his rapid ascension up the welterweight ladder with an impressive TKO victory over Hyun Gyu Lim at UFC Fight Night 66 on Saturday morning.

The two men traded momentum in the opening round, with Lim hurting Magny early with a wild flurry before Magny turned the tables and lumped up Lim with some ground-and-pound from full mount. Magny finished the frame with a slick combination, punctuated with a big knee from the clinch.

Clearly the fresher fighter entering the second round, Magny immediately took Lim down, secured full mount, and started to unleash heavy hands while Lim moved to his stomach, looking to avoid serious damage.

After a steady stream of punishment, referee Steve Perceval put an end to the onslaught at 1:24 of the second stanza.
