Tuck, Jingliang among winners of UFC Fight Night 66 prelims

Jon Tuck def. Tae Hyun Bang via first-round rear-naked choke

Once Jon Tuck smelled blood in the water, it was all over.

Tuck floored Tae Hyun Bang with a crushing right hand, immediately took Bang’s back and started unleashing a steady stream of huge punches. From there it was academic, as Tuck, a jiu-jitsu wizard, sunk in a tight rear-naked choke, eliciting the tap at 3:56 of the opening frame.

Incredible finishing instincts from Tuck.

Kajan Johnson def. Zhang Lipeng via unanimous decision

It wasn't aesthetically pleasing, but Kajan Johnson did more than enough to topple Zhang Lipeng on Saturday morning.

Johnson controlled the opening frame with superior wrestling and grappling, fruitlessly going for multiple leg locks, including what looked like a Ric Flair-esque figure four.

The second round was more of the same, as Johnson was the better positional grappler, taking Lipeng’s back along the cage on multiple occasions but not unleashing very much punishment. Lipeng had a few flashes of offense, including some nice scrambles that saw him finish on top, but he wasn’t able to do much with them, and Johnson quickly took the dominant position every time.

Round 3 was, well, pretty much the same thing, with Johnson grinding Lipeng down in the clinch and nailing takedowns every time Lipeng saw a little daylight.

It wasn’t pretty, or very exciting, but it was a solid workman-like performance from Kajan Johnson.

Li Jingliang def. Dhiego Lima via first-round TKO

It took Li Jingliang less than a minute-and-a-half to completely dismantle Dhiego Lima.

Jingliang crumbled Lima to the mat with a brutal left hook-right hand combination, and followed that up with some anvil-like right hands while Lima tried in vain to turtle up against the fence.

Lima took five or six heavy shots to the dome until referee Terry Hill mercifully waved off the fight at 1:25 of the opening round.

Impressive performance from the China Top Team.

Ning Guangyou def. Royston Wee via second-round TKO

Ning Guangyou was quite simply too much for Royston Wee on Saturday morning.

Guangyou bullied Wee around the cage in the opening frame with constant pressure and aggression, as Wee started to fatigue visibly.

With mere seconds left in the second round, he sent Wee careening to the mat with a flurry of punches to the head and body, and followed that up with some vicious elbows until referee Steve Perceval stepped in to put an end to the onslaught at 4:59 of the frame.
