Ex-Alabama QB Blake Sims working out for Redskins as RB, WR

Despite having put together a relatively productive senior season as Alabama's starting quarterback, it appears that changing positions may give Blake Sims the best opportunity to make an NFL roster.

After going both undrafted and unsigned at his natural position, Sims is scheduled to try out for the Washington Redskins as either a running back or slot wide receiver this week, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Somewhat undersized as a quarterback but possessed of intriguing speed and athletic ability, such a position change could conceivably do Sims well as he transitions to the pro level.

Sims recorded 83 carries for 350 yards and seven rushing scores to go with his 3,487 passing yards and 28 touchdowns in his final season at Alabama.
