Report: Cristiano Ronaldo donates £5 million for Nepal earthquake relief

Cristiano Ronaldo, despite public perception to the contrary from those who are unwilling to admit that they're misguided on the situation, continues to prove that he's a damn fine human being.

The Real Madrid megastar, chided by many who view him as an egotistical narcissist, has reportedly donated £5 million to aid in the relief effort following the massive earthquake that devastated Nepal last month, killing some 7,500 people – at last count – and displacing thousands more.

French magazine So Foot reports that the 30-year-old made the contribution to charitable organization Save the Children, a group which Ronaldo openly advocated for on his Facebook page in the wake of the disaster last month.

There has been no confirmation of the donation, however, as British newspaper The Independent reported Saturday.

When The Independent contacted Save the Children's UK office on Saturday morning, the charity said they were looking into the matter with their colleagues abroad but had no official confirmation that a donation had been made by the footballer.

Given Ronaldo's history of charitable work, it seems more than likely that he has indeed made the donation.
