Report: Rishard Matthews wants Dolphins to trade or release him

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Rishard Matthews is boycotting the team's voluntary workouts in the hopes of being traded or released, according to Adam H. Beasley of the Miami Herald.

Matthews, a seventh-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, is upset over the possibility of another season buried on the Dolphins' depth chart, Beasley reports. His agent, Steve Caric, declined to comment on the matter.

The Dolphins traded for Kenny Stills and signed Greg Jennings in free agency, but it wasn't until they drafted former Louisville wide receiver DeVante Parker in the first round that Matthews decided to stop attending the offseason conditioning program, Beasley reports. It's unclear whether Parker's holdout will extend into the team's mandatory minicamp, but skipping it would result in a fine.

Matthews has caught 64 passes for 734 yards and four touchdowns in 38 games for the Dolphins.
