Report: Fred Davis reinstated from indefinite suspension

Free-agent tight end Fred Davis has been reinstated from indefinite suspension by the NFL, Pro Football Talk reports.

Davis, then a member of the Washington Redskins, was banished in February 2014 after a second substance abuse violation.

The next day, Davis was charged with driving while intoxicated.

Davis is free to sign with a team, but it may be a long shot that he generates much interest. After a breakout season in 2011 that saw him catch 59 passes for 796 yards, Davis's play tailed off dramatically.
